9 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, 10 and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.
  4. Freed:  Romans 6:6 (ESV)
6 We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

Identity in Christ || Christian Spoken Word Poetry

Christian, don’t listen to the lies.

Each and every day, you face an onslaught of
Past definitions, new accusations, and tails future condemnation

Each and every day, your enemy, stands before you
Teasing you, enticing you, and tempting you to fail.

Each and every day, your accuser, whispers
You’re not good enough, not strong enough, not special enough.

Christian, don’t listen to the lies.

He may know who you were.
He may know how you failed.
But
He hopes you don’t know, who you are.

Christin, please listen to the truth.

You were dead in Sin
But now alive in Christ

You were bound by shame
But now redeemed by God

You were cursed with Hell
But now blessed with Hope

Christin, please listen to the truth.

Who you were, does not define who you are.
What you did, does not limit what you can do.
and
The more you understand that, the stronger you’ll stand.

So, Christian, remember

Each and every day you stand with God
Against the temptations, against the accusations, and against the condemnation

Each and every day, you face it with
God behind you, God beside you, and God leading you.

Each and every day, you fight as
A Child of God, Indwelt by God, and Empowered by God.

So, Christian, remember

Today, When you face your sworn enemy
Draw a line in the sand against that advisory
And
Boldly declare without empathy or apology

I am not who I was.
I am a Child of The King

And I, am not, alone.
